Blood Conditions and Blood Report Changes
A changed blood report, low hemoglobin, low platelet count, or thalassemia concern can worry your whole family. This page helps you understand common blood problems and when to see a specialist — in simple words, without panic.
Important Note: This page provides general education only. One abnormal blood count cannot diagnose a blood disorder online. A complete physical examination and review of your reports over time are needed.

Blood Conditions Are Not One Single Problem
One changed blood count can happen for many reasons. Symptoms and old reports matter. The goal is to understand what the change means and whether specialist review is needed.
Anemia & Low Hemoglobin
Feeling tired, looking pale, or having low hemoglobin that keeps coming back even after taking iron tablets. A specialist helps find the real cause — whether it’s iron, vitamin B12, blood loss, or something else.
Platelet Problems
Low platelet count after dengue, repeat blood tests, or easy bruising. A specialist helps understand whether it’s from infection recovery, an immune problem, or something that needs more tests.
WBC & CBC Changes
High or low white blood cell count in your CBC report. This can happen from infection, medicines, or stress. A specialist reviews your symptoms and old reports to understand what it means.
Bleeding & Bruising
Easy bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or bleeding that takes longer than usual to stop. A specialist checks whether it’s a platelet problem, a clotting problem, or something else.
Thalassemia & Inherited Blood Disorders
Family history of thalassemia, pre-marital screening, carrier testing, and understanding hemoglobin electrophoresis (HPLC) results. Support for families with thalassemia history or diagnosed patients.
Bone Marrow Evaluation
Sometimes blood counts stay abnormal even after repeat tests. In some cases, a bone marrow test may be needed to understand the cause more clearly. Not every patient needs this test.

Blood Conditions We Help
Diagnose and Manage
From anemia and low platelet counts to thalassemia and abnormal blood reports, we provide expert guidance for a wide range of blood disorders.
Anemia (Low Hemoglobin)
Feeling tired all the time? Low hemoglobin can cause weakness, pale skin, and shortness of breath. We identify the cause—iron deficiency, vitamin B12 lack, or something else.
- Constant tiredness and weakness
- Pale skin, nails, or inner eyelids
- Dizziness or shortness of breath
- Cold hands and feet
Low Platelet Count (Thrombocytopenia)
Platelets help your blood clot. Low counts can cause easy bruising, bleeding gums, or nosebleeds. We find the reason and guide treatment.
- Easy bruising without injury
- Frequent nosebleeds or bleeding gums
- Small red/purple spots on skin
- Heavy menstrual periods
Thalassemia & Hemoglobin Disorders
Inherited blood disorders that affect hemoglobin production. We provide genetic counseling, management plans, and family screening guidance.
- Family history of thalassemia
- Chronic anemia despite treatment
- Pre-marriage screening needed
- Child showing symptoms
Abnormal Blood Test Results
Got a blood report with unexpected numbers? High or low white cells, unusual red cell indices, or confusing lab values? We explain what they mean.
- Complete Blood Count (CBC) results
- Peripheral blood smear findings
- Hemoglobin electrophoresis reports
- Iron studies and vitamin levels
Bleeding & Clotting Disorders
Bleeding too much or clotting too easily? Conditions like hemophilia, von Willebrand disease, or clotting factor deficiencies need specialist care.
- Prolonged bleeding after cuts
- Excessive bleeding during surgery
- Unexplained blood clots
- Family history of bleeding disorders
Blood Cancer Screening & Support
Concerned about leukemia, lymphoma, or multiple myeloma? We provide thorough evaluation, diagnostic testing, and compassionate guidance through every step.
- Persistent unexplained fever
- Swollen lymph nodes that don’t go away
- Unexplained weight loss
- Abnormal blood counts on routine tests

When Should You See a
Blood Specialist?
Not every blood test change needs a specialist. But certain symptoms and patterns do. Here’s a simple guide to help you decide.
Check Your Symptoms
If you have 2 or more of these symptoms along with an abnormal blood report, consider seeing a specialist:
See a Doctor Immediately If:
- Severe bleeding that won’t stop
- Chest pain or difficulty breathing at rest
- High fever (above 103°F/39.4°C) with chills
- Sudden severe weakness or fainting
- Blood in urine or stool
- Severe headache with confusion
⚠️ These are emergency symptoms. Go to the nearest hospital emergency room immediately.
Specialist Review Recommended:
- Blood counts abnormal for 2+ weeks
- Your doctor referred you to a hematologist
- Family history of blood disorders
- Symptoms not improving with treatment
- Multiple abnormal values in blood reports
- Need pre-marriage screening for thalassemia
📋 Understanding Your Blood Report Timeline
Don’t panic. One abnormal value may be temporary. Repeat test in 1-2 weeks.
See your family doctor. They may start basic treatment or refer you.
Time to see a specialist. Bring all your previous reports.
What to Bring to
Your Consultation
Bringing the right documents helps us understand your condition better and provide accurate guidance. Here’s what you need.
Essential Documents
Please bring these to your appointment:
CBC (Complete Blood Count), hemoglobin, platelet count — bring all previous reports, not just the latest one. Old reports show trends.
Iron studies, vitamin B12, folate, hemoglobin electrophoresis (HPLC), peripheral blood film (PBF), bone marrow reports (if done).
List of all medicines you’re taking now (including iron tablets, vitamins, or any other treatment). Bring the medicine strips if possible.
Any prescriptions, referral letters, or medical summaries from other doctors you’ve seen for this problem.
Helpful to Mention
These details help us understand your situation better:
- When symptoms started and how they’ve changed
- Family history of blood disorders (anemia, thalassemia, bleeding problems)
- Recent illnesses (dengue, typhoid, viral fever)
- Dietary habits (vegetarian, non-vegetarian, iron-rich foods)
- Menstrual history (for women — heavy periods, irregular cycles)
- Previous surgeries or blood transfusions
- Any allergies to medicines
Take photos of all your reports with your phone before coming. If you forget a paper copy, you can show the photo. Also helps keep a backup.
